Lipoma of Abdominal Wall: An Uncommon and Unusual Location
نویسندگان
چکیده
Lipoma is a benign soft tissue tumor, composed of mature fat cells. It represents by far the most common benign mesenchymal neoplasm which can occur throughout the whole body, but it rarely originates in the abdominal wall. Due to its rare etiologic origin and obscure cause of development, we herby report on a case of a lipoma in a 45-year-old male who presented with chronic left flank pain that was treated by surgery. Histology is fundamental in detecting a malignant transformation.

Giant Submucosal Lipoma of Sigmoid Colon
Lipomas of the gasterointestinal Tract are relatively uncommon in clinical practice. Most cases are asymptomatic with small tumor size and do not need any special treatment but the large ones are known to cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, obstruction, intussusceptions, and bleeding. INTRODUCTION Lipomas of the gastrointestinal tract are a rare condition. Only 5% are of gastric origin, and this corresponds to 2% to 3% of all benign tumors of the stomach and less than 1% of all gastric neoplasms. It is our purpose to report an unusual presentation of a giant gastric lipoma in an oligosymptomatic patient and highlight the importance of discussing differential diagnosis in thi...

Submucosal lipomas of the large bowel are uncommon. Occasionally, they occur in the rectum and may cause aspecific symptoms; presentation with rectal prolapse is very unusual and may lead to a misdiagnosis of simple mucosal prolapse. The paper describes an additional case of a prolapsing rectal mass that led to diagnosis and surgical treatment of a rectal lipoma under local anesthesia.

The frequency of these lesions is the same in all age groups, but in adults deep seated-...
